ok folks, the time has finally arrived! i have been waiting for this moment since the last time i saw her in concert when i was a wee young lass of eighteen years old. this past monday, march 16th, 2009, i traveled to boston banknorth garden and SAW BRITNEY SPEARS IN CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahhhh! i still can't get over it. it was such a GREAT concert! it was seriously one of the best pop concerts i have *EVER* been to. our seats were not as good as the first time i saw britney but they were still pretty awesome seats. we could see most of the stage from where we sat and i brought my trusty binoculars to get an even better view. (obviously) the theme of the concert was being at a circus and they had all these amazing performers through out the show. the acrobatics were definitely the WOW factor of this tour and it really brought a level of sophistication that i have NEVER seen before at a pop concert. the set design was breathtaking and wondrous - britney has knocked the competition out of the water with this tour!
i am so grateful that my boyfriend came with me because he made it his sole purpose to take the best pictures of britney that he could. it was pretty easy to sneak in a camera into the venue. he also has perfected this amazing technique of putting the camera up to the binoculars and zooming in even closer...check out these amazing shots he got from the night!
(btw: i lost my nerve at the last minute and decided NOT to wear my britney costume to the show. i felt fat and really didn't want to spend the rest of the night sweating in the hot latex. but i had already gone to the trouble of putting my wig on so i figured i should keep it on for the show!)
i have been into britney from the moment her first single dropped back in 1998. i love her for a variety of reasons - her outrageousness, her spirit and her ability to dance her ass off are just a few of the reasons. the #1 reason is that i *LOVE* her music! i listen to her music every day and i can honestly say that i never get sick of it! its ALLLLLL about the music for me with her! i love pop music and britney is as good as it gets. there is something magnetizing about her and people are automatically attracted to her presence. mark my words, britney spears will go down in history as the TRUE queen of pop!
i decided a short time ago that i would officially retire this series after i saw britney in concert again. she has come full circle and i have witnessed it first hand. a lot of people dubbed this her "come back" but i firmly believed that she never truly left. she has been burned by a lot people in her life but she always rises and comes out on top. i admit, i had my doubts about her ability to pull of a successful tour when she had such a short time to prepare for it. those doubts are completely wiped from my mind! she did not just put on any old show - this was an epic EVENT! it was a truly a masterpiece of art! whether you think she's back or that she never left, britney has made it clear to the world that she isn't going anywhere, ANY TIME soon!
now that's not to say that i will NEVER write about britney again but the posts will definitely be less frequent. i hope you all enjoyed reading about my love for the true queen of pop - i sure had fun sharing my adventures and devotion with you!

last weekend, my two best friends and i decided to put together a britney party to commemorate britney's return to the pop scene with the release of her new album circus. i had been thinking about having a britney party for awhile and the opportunity finally came. my friend mikala was gracious enough to let us hold the ball at her house.
we invited all of our friends to come dressed up as a "version" of britney. we got britney's favorite snacks and drinks to serve to our guests and we played *ONLY* britney's music all night long! it was honestly THE BEST party i've ever been to...it was basically one long laugh-dance fest!
this is me in my britney costume - i went as oops i did it again britney! the wig and the suit are two of the best things i have ever bought from ebay! i had to special order the suit in my size. it comes from a weird fetish sex shop based in china...which probably explains why there are two zippers on the suit - including one that unzips from my butt! oh yeah and i bought the lifesize britney from ebay as well - it even came with a certificate of authenticity!
pictured above is the frappucino shot that i created for the party (britney is constantly seen getting frappucinos from starbucks - let me know if you want the recipe!) and britney's other favorite snacks: cheetos, ruffles orange fanta and pepsi. the last is a sign i made for the snack table (eat it, lick it, snort it, fuck it is a direct quote that britney gave to a paparazzi last year).

today is not only britney's 27th birthday...it is also the day that her sixth studio album Circus drops!

this is the fourth time i've seen brit-brit perform womanizer...and the fourth time must be the charm! maybe its because she has felt more comfortable performing it after the weekend...whatever the case, doesn't she look amazing?!?!

i actually like this version better then the german version! i think the red outfit def looks better and i think i can even actually hear britney singing instead of lip syncing!edit 11/30/08: here's britney performing womanizer for a third time on the U.K's x-factor.
these is probably my least fav of all the performances but only because her outfit is a looking a bit drab.
anyhoo...so we are a mere four days away from the release of britney's new album circus! i pre-ordered my the deluxe version of the album that includes a bonus DVD that contains the making of the music video for her single circus, the music video for womanizer, and a photo gallery of britney. it also has a two sided poster of britney!! i can't wait for tuesday!

omg, some of britney's album leaked online this weekend!!!!!! if you search around the net, you *CAN* find the entire album available for download. HOWEVER, since i want to encourage each of you to actually buy the album when it comes out - i am not going to be posting any links to the illegal download. sorry kiddos, you gotta search around if you want to listen to it that badly!

i'm sure you avid brit fans have already seen her new video for womanizer which dropped earlier this week but i'm posting it anyways for those that may not have seen it yet! check out the hotness!!
i loveeeee this video! sooo much better then her past three videos (including piece of me for which she won three mtv music awards for). britney is doing what she does best - looking hot and dancing her ass off! the video is def making me like the song more and more. bravo brit brit!!!!
(did anyone else notice what the date is on the guy's nokia in the beginning? i wonder if that was intentional...heehee!)
britney's myspace was updated today and all these new songs were uploaded. at first i thought they were leaked from her album that is releasing on december 2nd but i did a little more research and they are songs that were included on the In The Zone DVD. i'm seriously disappointed in myself that i never knew about these songs - i can't believe i call myself a huge britney fan and i dont even know her whole collection! shame on me!
the above is the answer and i can kind of understand why it never made it on to the actual album...its kind of lame but at least britney's voice sounds good on it.
this song is called don't hang up. def better then the last song but not by much! haha, sorry brit but its true. its kind of a chill song though so i can appreciate it on that level. both of these songs would prob be better if they were re-mixed a little.

did you see her necklace that spelled out her son's names? soo adorables! i hope this documentary is a positive one for britney...i have my doubts. sometimes i think that celebrities should just not talk about their lives at all but maybe it will be a cathardic experience for her. i'm sure she has a lot to get off her chest and wants to speak out to her fans so she can re-connect with them. XX i'm crossing my fingers for her! XX

so the BIG news of this week is that britney finally dropped her new single womanizer!!!!!!! shall we have a listen??
not to be negative but this song def reminds me of radar from off her last album black out. it's catchy though and it definitley grew on me from the first time i listened to it. i give it a total all around grade of B-.
frankly, i'm just grateful that britney is healthy enough to go back into the studio and work her musical magic. i think if britney continues on this upward spiral then i may have to discontinue this series of posts. i started off writing these to combat all the negativity that brit-brit receives. ever since her father came back into her life and she kicked that sleazebag manager to the curb, i have seen mostly good news about her. let me just say, for the record, that if britney makes good on her promise to tour in 2009 then i will retire my weekly britney posts. by embarking on a tour, that means (to me) that she's officially back and on top where she belongs!
As she entered the school (which was not in session due to the Jewish holiday), she was treated to a performance by the Sousatones, the school's eight-piece band, led by director Sal Mazzola.
"When you're ready to take us on the road for an opening act, we're ready," he told Spears.
Spears, who plans to tour in 2009, replied: "You'll be the first people I call."
Mazzola told the students in advance they would be playing for a "high-profile" guest, but they only learned it would be Spears earlier that morning. (Some kids guessed it would be P. Diddy or Barack Obama.)
Spears was also serenaded by a chorus of seven girls, including soloist Rachel Lewis, 14, who sang "I Am Woman."
The donation came from Elizabeth Arden, which is behind Spears's fragrances, Believe, Fantasy and Curious.
"I really enjoyed the time I spent at the John Philip Sousa Middle School," Spears tells PEOPLE. "I've been working with the people at Elizabeth Arden for the last five years, and I know how passionate everyone is about the school. I loved hearing the school orchestra and the children sang so beautifully. The fact that Elizabeth Arden made such a large donation for the school music studio in my name was so generous."
how lucky are those kids??? i mean, i guess they aren't THAT lucky since their music program is only a year old...which is kind of ironic considering that their school is named for one of the most famous music composers from america. but anyways, it still must have been awesome to meet britney! it's always nice to see britney reaching out and trying to do some good. bravo brit brit!
