on august 8th, will and i drove to mansfield, ma to the Comcast Center (also known as Great Woods) to see the Blazed & Confused Tour with the one...the only...SNOOP DOGG!!!!!! it has been a lifelong dream of mine to catch my favorite rapper in concert. i planned this event months in advance but unfortch some things came up so my friends julie, mikala and katie couldn't make it up there. i was a bit bummed about that because this was my last concert on the east coast so i wanted to make it really special and have lots of my friends around. even though they didn't make it, we still managed to have fun. luckily we were able to find takers for two of the three tickets we had left so my sister brianne and her wife yami came, and then they brought along two of their friends.

mickey avalon was one of the openers for the concert - and we were so surprised because STEPHEN MARLEY was the other opener! we had no idea - it was so sweet! he played most of bob's hits and it was a perfect way to get us psyched for snoop!

at one point snoop shouted to the audience, "hold up your lighters if you're getting your smoke on!" this was PRACTICALLY everyone in the audience holding up their lighters!

snoop played such a great set - he played all my favorite songs! also, i have been to other rap concerts where the main rapper has about twenty people of his entourage on the stage, also hollering into the microphones (i'm looking at you 50 cent!) and you can't even tell who is actually rapping. snoop had NONE of that - it was him and only him on the stage spitting it (well aside from when da brat made her brief appearance)! his skills are still impeccable and he brought the house down. he still is and he will always remain my favorite rapper!

after snoop, this band called slightly stoopid came on. i had never heard of them before but they were a good, chill jam band. but i must admit that i had to lay down on the blanket for their set cause i was so exhausted by then - def was blazed and confused by the end of the night!

Summer is finally here! What are your plans?

my sister's wedding, vacation with my cousins, lynda's birthday, the drive-in, rhode island beaches, brooklyn friends, snoop dogg concert, quitting my job, going away party at michelle's, moving across the country!

i watched a hilarious new documentary that came out on netflix this week titled super high me. it stars comedian doug benson and it's kind of a spoof of the documentary super size me but instead of eating fast food for 30 days, mr. benson abstains from smoking pot for 30 days and then proceeds to smoke pot every day for 30 days.

i thought it was going to be heavier on the science but it was more heavy on the comedy side - which is fine because i obviously love to laugh! but i did have *ahem* higher hopes for it. it did deal a lot with medical marijuana advocacy which is great but i wish it would have done a lot more with the myths and stereotypes surrounding marijuana in both society and the medical world. i thought he was going to smoke himself sick but it turns out he didn't get sick at all and it was a fairly pleasant experience for him. the fact that he used the volcano vaporizer to do most of his toking most likely helped him to reach the full 30 days since he wasn't technically smoking, he was steaming the pot into his lungs. this is a must-see documentary for any toker or former-toker, or anyone that wants to get more facts on this issue. doug benson is a hilarious comic so if you are comedy fan, i also recommend this to you.

...which leads me to two AMAZING songs that i discovered this week about marijuana. the first is a song that is played in super high me, written by walker young. it is aptly titled I Smoke Every Weed and if you've ever had the pleasure of going to california and experiencing the medical marijuana facilities there...well then, this song's for you!

and then i came across snoop dogg's new country music video (country? wtf??) for a song titled My Medicine, featuring a cameo from the legendary willie nelson. just adding this to the list of reasons why i freakin love snoop!

p.s. it is not my intention to offend anyone but merely to express my personal views on this controversial subject. if you are offended, i sincerely mean you no harm!

past weekly britney posts

for serious, there are only a handful of moments in britney's career that have made me squeal - and the kiss heard around the world is definitely one of them! i remember watching the MTV performance live and i was star-struck from beginning to end by this performance. it's probably one of the most memorable VMA's and it's certainly my favorite VMA performance of all time - madonna AND britney on the same stage? my two favorite pop-stars of all time performing together?

i guess beyonce was supposed to perform christina's part but pulled out at the last minute. don't matter to me cause i think christina did a pretty kick-ass job...although i must point out that everyone freaked out about britney and madonna and no one had a one word to say about christina kissing madonna. hell, you can even buy posters of the kiss! this just proves, once again, that britney has more star-quality then christina.

ok, i love how the camera pans to justin. but even better then that, i love how they show a shot of snoop dogg laughing his ass off. you know he was high as hell and was like "oh shiiiiiiit!" when they kissed. haha, LOVES IT!!!!

p.s. missy elliot is also amazing in this - and it's too bad they couldn't have worked in a lesbian kiss with her too since she's the actual lesbian of the bunch!
