Summer is finally here! What are your plans?
my sister's wedding, vacation with my cousins, lynda's birthday, the drive-in, rhode island beaches, brooklyn friends, snoop dogg concert, quitting my job, going away party at michelle's, moving across the country!
that's all i have...for now!
i seriously had one of the best weekends everrrrrr!
on friday morning, will and i got up super early and left for misquamicut beach in westerly, rhode island at around 5:30AM. we left early to beat all the beach traffic. it was a smart move on our part because the beach was practically deserted once we got there. it was a little rainy in the morning but it stopped once we arrived and the sun came out around 9AM. the storm the night before caused the waves to be MASSIVE! the waves were over our heads and they just wouldn't stop rolling in. you would get hit by a wave and then immediately have to get up so the next one wouldn't knock you over. the under tow was really strong too. i guess i should say that the waves were really big for this area! connecticut beaches suck because they are located on long island sound which means they don't get any waves. you have to travel to rhode island to get any wave action. but even so, these were the biggest waves i have ever seen at misquamicut. me and will had such a blast playing in the water and relaxing on the sand. it got a little crowded as the day went on but nothing too bad. it was absolutely the *BEST* way to spend fourth of july!

i <3 this pic!
will swimming in the waves!
some more swimming by will - look how huge the waves are!
we went over to my parent's house again on saturday night for some hamburgers and homemade mac & cheese (my favorite foods). then we walked across campus to the chapel where you can see the hartford fireworks display from the riverfront. it's the highest point in hartford so you can usually see the fireworks fine. but it was really hazy and foggy that night so we could barely see them. i wasn't too disappointed though because i'm not that big on fireworks (much to the chagrin of my immediate family).
on sunday, we slept in and then went over to my parent's place again. my sister, yami, my mom and will wanted to go to the driving range so i tagged along. i read my book as they hit golf balls. my mom sent us home with leftovers from the night before and we ended the night by watching mallrats for the fiftieth time.
it was a perfect weekend and if you all had 5% of the fun i had then i bet you had a great weekend also!
