ok folks, the time has finally arrived! i have been waiting for this moment since the last time i saw her in concert when i was a wee young lass of eighteen years old. this past monday, march 16th, 2009, i traveled to boston banknorth garden and SAW BRITNEY SPEARS IN CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahhhh! i still can't get over it. it was such a GREAT concert! it was seriously one of the best pop concerts i have *EVER* been to. our seats were not as good as the first time i saw britney but they were still pretty awesome seats. we could see most of the stage from where we sat and i brought my trusty binoculars to get an even better view. (obviously) the theme of the concert was being at a circus and they had all these amazing performers through out the show. the acrobatics were definitely the WOW factor of this tour and it really brought a level of sophistication that i have NEVER seen before at a pop concert. the set design was breathtaking and wondrous - britney has knocked the competition out of the water with this tour!
i am so grateful that my boyfriend came with me because he made it his sole purpose to take the best pictures of britney that he could. it was pretty easy to sneak in a camera into the venue. he also has perfected this amazing technique of putting the camera up to the binoculars and zooming in even closer...check out these amazing shots he got from the night!
(btw: i lost my nerve at the last minute and decided NOT to wear my britney costume to the show. i felt fat and really didn't want to spend the rest of the night sweating in the hot latex. but i had already gone to the trouble of putting my wig on so i figured i should keep it on for the show!)
i have been into britney from the moment her first single dropped back in 1998. i love her for a variety of reasons - her outrageousness, her spirit and her ability to dance her ass off are just a few of the reasons. the #1 reason is that i *LOVE* her music! i listen to her music every day and i can honestly say that i never get sick of it! its ALLLLLL about the music for me with her! i love pop music and britney is as good as it gets. there is something magnetizing about her and people are automatically attracted to her presence. mark my words, britney spears will go down in history as the TRUE queen of pop!
i decided a short time ago that i would officially retire this series after i saw britney in concert again. she has come full circle and i have witnessed it first hand. a lot of people dubbed this her "come back" but i firmly believed that she never truly left. she has been burned by a lot people in her life but she always rises and comes out on top. i admit, i had my doubts about her ability to pull of a successful tour when she had such a short time to prepare for it. those doubts are completely wiped from my mind! she did not just put on any old show - this was an epic EVENT! it was a truly a masterpiece of art! whether you think she's back or that she never left, britney has made it clear to the world that she isn't going anywhere, ANY TIME soon!
now that's not to say that i will NEVER write about britney again but the posts will definitely be less frequent. i hope you all enjoyed reading about my love for the true queen of pop - i sure had fun sharing my adventures and devotion with you!

today is not only britney's 27th birthday...it is also the day that her sixth studio album Circus drops!

this is the fourth time i've seen brit-brit perform womanizer...and the fourth time must be the charm! maybe its because she has felt more comfortable performing it after the weekend...whatever the case, doesn't she look amazing?!?!
move over madonna...the queen of pop has taken back her crown!
britney's new album blackout is officially released today! october 30th marks this joyous occasion in all of britney's fans' lives!!! i know that i for one have been waiting a looooooong time for this moment to arrive! and i'm so very glad that its finally here!
it has not been easy for our dear britney these past couple years. she's not out of the dark waters yet but i am hoping that this is the start of a new beginning for her. when all is said and done, it's all about the music for me. i've been catching a free listen of her album all week on mtv.com and i have to say that i really and truly enjoy it. if you are a diehard britney fan (like me!) then you will love it and cry tears of joy that your britney has managed to find her way back to us.
if you are one of those people that JUST likes britney's on-air hits then this might not be the album for you. you will probably like some of her songs but not all of them. like on her other albums, she includes some cheesy numbers on there...but i happen to love the cheesiness so its all good! i have to say that i've really been jamming to every single song on the album and i find myself getting the lyrics in my head or busting a dance move to some. it's very catchy and there are no ballads on the album at all which i think is a great thing since i love the dance music!
so please, if you love britney, go out and buy her album and support her! she needs all the support she can get these days!!! let's show all those haters!!!
ok, i used to be under the impression that madonna could do ANYTHING but...i'm really not feeling this song! it reminds me of that crap rap she put out on american life. she really can't pull off the hip-hop thing, i think thats more of britney's forte now.
her voice sounds insanely whiny on this and that beat on the background is nothing to brag about. umm and seriously, 50 cent ALREADY had a song called the candy shop!
madonna - stick with what you know! DANCE DANCE DANCE! thats all your fans want to hear from you. no hip-hoppy dance but some banging HOUSE music!
for reals, get your shiz together!
my boyfriend just pointed out all this stuff to me about benzene which is a VERY common ingredient in soda. i've been having problems with soda because of my acid reflux but i had no idea that it was a CARCINOGEN!!! seriously...and it's NOT regulated!
it's def an album about her being in love with her hubby. i'm glad that she's found happiness...but the songs are a little boring after awhile. she needs a rockin dance beat like waiting for tonight desperately on this album. it's a bit of a snoozer!

so i snuck out of work early last thursday to see jojo perform at the thursday night concert series at six flags new england. i have a season pass so i can go to the park whenever i want and it's only a half hour away.
being the pop fanatic that i am (as most of you now know), i was super excited to see jojo. the concert venue is in this part of the park that is totally surrounded by trees. its a pretty beautiful place to hold a concert. you can sit on the grass if you want to or sit on the park benches (or stand close to the stage, like we did). luckily, it rained that day so there weren't a lot of people at the park and we managed to watch the show from a pretty good area.
