What are your top five break-up songs?
Submitted by gt.
i tried to limit this to five but i couldn't! there are so many great break-up songs!
so i just found this gem of a video - britney performing at woodstock in 1999! i had no idea that she even performed there. actually, if you go to the wikipedia page on it, she's not even listed as a performer. but don't worry, i double checked the facts and she most certainly WAS there and DID perform. i couldn't quite remember what the deal was with woodstock 99 but after reading about it again, a memory popped up of kurt loder and other mtv vjs saying that they were officially "fleeing" woodstock 99 because riots had erupted.
here's a description from kurt, "It was dangerous to be around. The whole scene was scary. There were just waves of hatred bouncing around the place, (...) It was clear we had to get out of there. It was like a concentration camp. To get in, you get frisked to make sure you're not bringing in any water or food that would prevent you from buying from their outrageously priced booths. You wallow around in garbage and human waste. There was a palpable mood of anger."
the ticket price for the 3-day festival was $160, a price that most people were horrified by and that also contributed to the angry concert-goers. i'm just mentioning this because i spent $160 on my justin timberlake ticket to see him at mohegan sun, FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY, for this august. my, how times have changed since 1999...
but i digress...let's get to the goodies!!
even though brit's hair looks ridiculous (think blonde ambition madonna), i still think the performance was tight. i love watching old school britney because she does all the old routines to her songs. i remember sitting in front of my t.v. and practicing all her dance moves and when i watch these videos now, the old routines come back to me! i guess it's kind of like riding a bicycle. i also never get sick of these songs and i love hearing them again, especially the lesser known song "i will be there" (i have another video to post for this song but i'll save that for another brit post)
LOVES IT!!!!!
