Who do you tell your secrets to?
i am really bad at keeping secrets! i usually tell my boyfriend or my sisters pretty much everything. i also tell my four best gal pals michelle, lynda, theresa and julie.
but my best friend salvatore knows most of my deepest & darkest ones and luckily he is good about keeping secrets!
okay so i am finally getting around to writing about my new years celebration!
luckily both will and i got let out of work early on wednesday and but it still didn't save us from the snowstorm we had to drive through in order to reach my sister brianne's place in somerville, right outside of boston. the snow was coming down hard and the roads were crazy but we made it to their place safe and sound and it only took us about a half hour longer to get there.
the original plan was to chill at brianne and yami's place and then go to their friend's studio apartment where we could see the fireworks go off right outside their windows. since it was snowing so hard, we knew the fireworks were going to be canceled. plan b was to go out and do first night boston stuff but that idea was nixed because it was TEN DEGREES OUTSIDE and the wind chill was zero degrees - it was fucking COLD! at the very last minute, brianne called johnny d's, a restaurant/club about ten minutes down the street and they had a table open for the night right next to the stage but we had to get there by 7:30PM or the guy was gonna give our table away. it was 7:20PM when she called.
we booked it as fast as we could down the street, i seriously ran because it was so darn cold out...and lo and behold! i discover that i left my wallet at my sister's apt. with all the rush of getting ready to go, i totally forgot to bring it! the bouncer made me walk all the way back to my sister's place to get my ID. granted, i don't really look my age but i don't look THAT young (who am i kidding? i get carded when i buy lighters). remember - it is TEN DEGREES OUTSIDE! i was soooo pissed! also, there was a $22 cover charge which i was not down with but i guess it *was* new years.
luckily though, that was the only bad thing that happened that night! we had great food, drinks and this awesome disco cover band called booty vortex played some groovy tunes to dance to! and it was boss to have a table right next to the band because we could sit down when we wanted to. and they had allllll these new year's hats and party favors to give out so everyone in the crowd was really into the swing of things!

Show us what makes you unique.
my scar on my back that was given to me by my friend julie. she claims that it was an "accident" but i know she just wanted to scar me so i would always remember her. :-p
Show us the best creative artist or crafter that you know personally.
the rautio brothers!!!! they painted this magnificent mural in my boyfriend's fraternity. they are awesome artists! and also some of the coolest people around.
check out the mural below! we like to take photo shoots with it. these pictures don't even do the mural any justice. it's even cooler then it looks! also, these pictures were actually taken on the first day that i ever hung out with my boyfriend! memorial day 2005 - the day my life changed forever!
this goes along with the previous post about v-day cause my birthday falls two days after valentine's day. i think the biggest reason why i didn't get heated over our v-day plans being ruined is because i knew we would be celebrating my birthday together in a couple days. even though will also had to work late on my birthday, he made up for it by calling out of work sick the next day. and of course, he made up for it by getting me lots of goodies!!!
this game is so much fun! i played it at a friend's house and told will about it so he got it for me. we haven't had a chance to play it with a big group yet but i can't wait! it's a lot like taboo but less formal and of course, it's portable which is awesome!
this is one of the best presents i have ever received! i love the scene it? games and have been eyeing this one for awhile. i am obsessed with disney movies AND playing games so this it the perfect gift for me. it's sooo much fun!!!! some of the questions are definitely geared towards children but the questions have got harder as we've played it more. i would recommend this game to anyone who has kids or who loves disney movies - which means everyone should buy it cause who DOESN'T love disney movies!?!?
my sister and her girlfriend also came down from boston to celebrate my birthday. they gave me $40 and two tickets to go to the new england aquarium in boston! i LOVE the aquarium - i can't wait to go! they have these adorable penguins when you first walk in. anyways, we usually go out to eat for a family dinner on birthdays but my mom was feeling sick so we just ordered a massive amount of indian food. mmmm, chicken tikka masala from taste of india in west hartford is the best thing you will ever eat. everyone was happy with their food and i was just grateful to be able to spend the time with my family. we also got an ice cream cake from baskin-robbins! i was disappointed that it didn't have the chocolate crunchies but the cake was still bangin. it was chocolate cake and oreo ice cream with lots and lots of frosting! i ate that cake for a week afterwards because it was so big!
on sunday, my boyfriend and i, my sister brianne and her girlfriend yami and my friend julie (who was randomly in town) decided to head on down to the mohegan sun casino. it's only about 45 minutes away from where we live and yami and brianne had never been there before. unfortch, it was president's day weekend and we didn't anticipate how crowded it would be. someone even suggested beforehand that it wouldn't be crowded because it's the "lord's day". i replied that doesn't mean shit in connecticut because the old people will go to church in the morning and then head to the casino for the day.
i don't gamble, nor do i drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes so needless to say, mohegan has kind of lost it's appeal to me. i usually have a great time if i head to the kid's zone where they have a chuck e. cheese type of arcade. but it was so crowded that we could barely get inside the arcade. on top of that, they changed the arcade games from tokens to swipe cards. so you had to wait in line to get a card then wait in line to put money on your card. RIDICULOUS!!! i say PEACE OUT to that shit.
we went out to eat at the uncas american indian grill and got some buffalo burgers but for serious, we got the meanest and rudest waitress i have EVER had in my life. she acted like it was out of her job requirement to get us refills on our sodas and she told us that we had to rush our order because the grill was really busy...even though it took less then ten minutes for our food to come out (and she got our order wrong). also, i have to say that it takes a lot for me to get pissed at waiters because i know how hard they work. but i also know when someone is being unnecessarily rude and mean so this bitch deserved the low tip she got from us.
my other favorite part of the casino is the sky bar which is a martini bar that has a planetarium type sky above you. it's really serene and tranquil inside the bar. EXCEPT that the waitress REFUSED to look at us even though we were all staring her down to come and take our order. we had to go up to the bar ourselves to order. she didn't even have the excuse of being busy because i've been in that bar before the kelly clarkson concert and it was ten times more packed that night. i guess it would be one thing if i didn't know how great the sky bar could be but of course i was comparing it to when i have gone before.
everyone kept assuring me that they were having a good time but i definitely wasn't. i loved all the people i was with but all the crowds of people annoyed me and i was mostly just bummed about not being able to go to the arcade. i've had so many awesome experiences at mohegan sun before this so it's kind of disappointing that this trip went so badly, esp. since we went because of my birthday.
