so the BIG news of this week is that britney finally dropped her new single womanizer!!!!!!! shall we have a listen??
not to be negative but this song def reminds me of radar from off her last album black out. it's catchy though and it definitley grew on me from the first time i listened to it. i give it a total all around grade of B-.
frankly, i'm just grateful that britney is healthy enough to go back into the studio and work her musical magic. i think if britney continues on this upward spiral then i may have to discontinue this series of posts. i started off writing these to combat all the negativity that brit-brit receives. ever since her father came back into her life and she kicked that sleazebag manager to the curb, i have seen mostly good news about her. let me just say, for the record, that if britney makes good on her promise to tour in 2009 then i will retire my weekly britney posts. by embarking on a tour, that means (to me) that she's officially back and on top where she belongs!
As she entered the school (which was not in session due to the Jewish holiday), she was treated to a performance by the Sousatones, the school's eight-piece band, led by director Sal Mazzola.
"When you're ready to take us on the road for an opening act, we're ready," he told Spears.
Spears, who plans to tour in 2009, replied: "You'll be the first people I call."
Mazzola told the students in advance they would be playing for a "high-profile" guest, but they only learned it would be Spears earlier that morning. (Some kids guessed it would be P. Diddy or Barack Obama.)
Spears was also serenaded by a chorus of seven girls, including soloist Rachel Lewis, 14, who sang "I Am Woman."
The donation came from Elizabeth Arden, which is behind Spears's fragrances, Believe, Fantasy and Curious.
"I really enjoyed the time I spent at the John Philip Sousa Middle School," Spears tells PEOPLE. "I've been working with the people at Elizabeth Arden for the last five years, and I know how passionate everyone is about the school. I loved hearing the school orchestra and the children sang so beautifully. The fact that Elizabeth Arden made such a large donation for the school music studio in my name was so generous."
how lucky are those kids??? i mean, i guess they aren't THAT lucky since their music program is only a year old...which is kind of ironic considering that their school is named for one of the most famous music composers from america. but anyways, it still must have been awesome to meet britney! it's always nice to see britney reaching out and trying to do some good. bravo brit brit!

one of my goals for 2007 was to donate to more charities and good causes. i just found this one and donated to it and i think YOU should to! i was browsing for more gifts to buy my boyfriend when i realized that i REALLY should be spending my money on something more worthwhile.

there are millions of organizations to donate to. but in my opinion, donating to one that helps to protect endangered species and help the environment are THE MOST important charities to give money to. i can't imagine telling my kids about polar bears and how they USED to exist. it saddens me and i hope that something can be done to save them. i'm doing my little part so here's hoping that some of you will do the same.
