OMFG!!!!!!! apparently i entered some contest online through KC101 and won tickets to see Britney at Madison Square Garden in NYC TOMORROW NIGHT!!!! they called me today while i was at work!!!
i am so freakin psyched!!!! my sister brianne is coming down from boston to go to the show with me - she has never seen britney before!!! prepared to be amazed, brianne!!! my boss is letting me leave early tomorrow so we have plenty of time to catch the train into the city and i am coming in late on thursday - yessss!
i am seriously so astounded and awed!!! this is like the tenth time i've won tickets to something from an online contest on the radio in the past two years - i seriously lost count of how many times i have won things, its getting a bit ridiculous!
what a FABULOUS way to end my time here on the east coast! going out with a bang with britney!!!!
you best believe that i am wearing my outfit again for this concert! this is britney's last concert that she is playing in NYC with the Circus tour! maybe i will make her website again??? one can only hope!! look out for me NYC!!!

my sister recently tuned me into this musician named glen hansard. i don't know that much about him but i do know that he has a killer version of justin timberlake's cry me a river and britney's everytime!

that is me and lynnieloo before britney's concert at mohegan sun this past sunday!!!!! i can't believe we ACTUALLY made it on the website! okay let me start from the beginning...
after seeing britney in boston, i *knew* that i had to see her again! i had britney fever really bad! so i dipped into my savings and bought a ticket on ebay from someone who couldn't make it to the show. i had to sit by myself but it really wasn't a big deal to me since i got to see britney again! luckily lynda also had tickets to the show so we met up at the casino before the concert started.
BUT i had to walk into the casino by myself...in that outfit! so i just took a deep breath, walked out of my car...and made a beeline for the stairs so i wouldn't have to be in a cramped elevator with anyone! but after that, i had to face the inevitable and walked into the casino.
do you ever get that feeling that people are stopping and staring at you...that people are whispering about you? usually it turns out you were just being paranoid, right? well that was exactly what i was going through while walking through the casino...EXCEPT THAT I WASN'T BEING PARANOID! people would start pointing at me WHEREVER i walked! i could see people turn around and tell their friends to look at me too! what's even weirder is that i actually got used to it after awhile!
i met up with lynda and we walked by the doors to the arena on our way to the sky bar to get a drink. that's when a photographer starts running to catch up to us and asks me if he can take my photo and says that he is the tour photographer! i looked at lynda and told her to hike her shirt up and said sure! we couldn't believe it! and i really couldn't believe when i saw us on the website today! its soooo awesome and cool! i don't even know if britney looks at the website but it's probably the closest i'll come to even being noticed by her so i'll take what i can get!
after that, we went to the sky bar and had a drink before the show. while we were there, all the girls at the bar turned around and asked us about our costumes. we chatted with them for a bit and they ended up helping us get the bartender's attention!
after that, we went into the arena and stood in line to get some snacks. that's when lynda noticed this creepster circling around us, trying to slyly take a picture of me...but more like a picture of my butt zipper since my back was turned to him! lynda said to him, "if you want a picture of her, you can just ASK her!" he quickly walked away after that. i wanted to yell after him TWITTER THIS, BITCH! but (of course) i thought of that five seconds too late.
thats about the same time though that people started coming up to me and telling me how great my outfit was and/or asking to take pictures with me...of course i said yes! it was awesome to see so many people getting into my costume! any doubts that i had (and i had MANY!) about wearing the costume were erased after i saw the appreciation from other brit fans. that was *exactly* why i wanted to wear it in the first place!
i'm sure i must have freaked out the gal that sat next to me because i come sauntering in, by myself, with my costume on and then proceed to immediately eat a hot dog and a melting hershey's bar that i have stashed in my purse (i forgot to eat dinner). then i busted out my camera and binoculars and camera phone! i left during one of the lesser known pussycat doll songs to buy a britney hat & underwear (!!!) and then i had to leave again to go to the bathroom right before britney went on. i was rushing to the bathroom and as these two girls pass me, i hear one of them say my name. i turn around and it is two of my friends, theresa and shelley, who i have not seen in YEARS! we grab each other and started DYING of laughter! they seriously couldn't catch their breath, they were laughing so hard at my get up! it was so fucking awesome to see them! i had to say goodbye quickly though cause i had to pee. then i was pulled out of the bathroom line to get another picture with someone else and i was so afraid that i was going to miss the start of the show but i got back just in time!
the last time i saw britney, i spent a lot of the time trying to get pictures that i didn't pay enough attention to the show. this time around, i still took pictures but i mostly just dance and sang the whole night! it was so much fun! i had an aisle seat and had to actually be asked to get out of the aisle cause i kept slowing traffic down because i was dancing in the aisles and staring off into my binoculars. this one dude gave me a high five every time he got up to get another beer and lots of people in my section complimented me on my costume! i also used the binoculars a lot more this time around and it was sooo cool to see britney up close and see all the details of her costume and the stage! you can really see how much she loves performing - it shines through her smile when she is on stage!
here are some pictures i took from the show!
there were three major differences that were changed since i saw the boston show. the first is that the outfit with the purple bow replaced this other risque costume. the second is that britney is lifted into the air over a ring of fire! i could actually feel the heat from the fire, it was so HOTTTT! and the last change was the sparks that were rained down upon britney at the end of the show. that was the most spectacular thing to see!
i was feeling so guilty before about spending more money to buy another ticket but i don't have that guilt anymore! it was such an amazing show the second time around and i am so glad that i wore my costume! britney fans are the best fans in the whole world!!!!

i realized i never put up pictures from my night out on the town at the polo club a few weeks back!
i invited a bunch of my friends out to the polo club and a lot of people rsvp'd but then backed out at the last minute for various reasons. i originally planned the night so that mandirigma could break her polo cherry but she got sick that night and couldn't make it (don't worry girl, there's always next time!). it worked out alright though because michelle&katie&britt came and also my good friend luka who i have not seen since last summer! it was really good to catch up with luka and dance the night away with my friends!
ok folks, the time has finally arrived! i have been waiting for this moment since the last time i saw her in concert when i was a wee young lass of eighteen years old. this past monday, march 16th, 2009, i traveled to boston banknorth garden and SAW BRITNEY SPEARS IN CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahhhh! i still can't get over it. it was such a GREAT concert! it was seriously one of the best pop concerts i have *EVER* been to. our seats were not as good as the first time i saw britney but they were still pretty awesome seats. we could see most of the stage from where we sat and i brought my trusty binoculars to get an even better view. (obviously) the theme of the concert was being at a circus and they had all these amazing performers through out the show. the acrobatics were definitely the WOW factor of this tour and it really brought a level of sophistication that i have NEVER seen before at a pop concert. the set design was breathtaking and wondrous - britney has knocked the competition out of the water with this tour!
i am so grateful that my boyfriend came with me because he made it his sole purpose to take the best pictures of britney that he could. it was pretty easy to sneak in a camera into the venue. he also has perfected this amazing technique of putting the camera up to the binoculars and zooming in even closer...check out these amazing shots he got from the night!
(btw: i lost my nerve at the last minute and decided NOT to wear my britney costume to the show. i felt fat and really didn't want to spend the rest of the night sweating in the hot latex. but i had already gone to the trouble of putting my wig on so i figured i should keep it on for the show!)
i have been into britney from the moment her first single dropped back in 1998. i love her for a variety of reasons - her outrageousness, her spirit and her ability to dance her ass off are just a few of the reasons. the #1 reason is that i *LOVE* her music! i listen to her music every day and i can honestly say that i never get sick of it! its ALLLLLL about the music for me with her! i love pop music and britney is as good as it gets. there is something magnetizing about her and people are automatically attracted to her presence. mark my words, britney spears will go down in history as the TRUE queen of pop!
i decided a short time ago that i would officially retire this series after i saw britney in concert again. she has come full circle and i have witnessed it first hand. a lot of people dubbed this her "come back" but i firmly believed that she never truly left. she has been burned by a lot people in her life but she always rises and comes out on top. i admit, i had my doubts about her ability to pull of a successful tour when she had such a short time to prepare for it. those doubts are completely wiped from my mind! she did not just put on any old show - this was an epic EVENT! it was a truly a masterpiece of art! whether you think she's back or that she never left, britney has made it clear to the world that she isn't going anywhere, ANY TIME soon!
now that's not to say that i will NEVER write about britney again but the posts will definitely be less frequent. i hope you all enjoyed reading about my love for the true queen of pop - i sure had fun sharing my adventures and devotion with you!

now i don't know this for sure about the meaning of the video but after watching it a couple times, i am gathering that the meaning behind the sexy scenes in the beginning is playing up on the whole F.U.C.K. me controversy. the first scene looks like the aftermath of a porn shot in a hotel room. and then the scene with the cheerleaders looks like some sort of cheerleading fantasy porn too.
the scene at the end where she comes out with a pie and looking like a stepford wife is meant to imply that she is supposed to be prim and proper in the public eye at all times - she is supposed to be perfect. obviously no one can be perfect so she is playing up on that expectation of her. the sexy scenes are what she's like behind closed door - and the stepford wife is what she's like in front of the cameras. i mean, she's not literally shooting pornos but its meant to imply that celebrities are human just like everyone else - and they like to get down and dirty too!

by now, i'm sure most of you have heard the good news that britney's tour kicked off this past tuesday, march 3rd 2009, in new orleans. since i don't want to spoil the concert for myself, i have been trying to avoid reading about it or seeing photographs and vids of it all week! mikala told me that she heard people say it was, "the best concert they have EVER been to!" OMFG, i can't wait!!!!!!

i am only TEN DAYS away from seeing britney in concert (again!) but now i find myself in a conundrum! i *REALLY* want to wear my britney costume that i wore to the britney ball to the show. these are my reasons for wearing it:
- when can i ever wear it again? theres not going to be another britney ball for awhile and i guess i could maybe wear it for halloween but thats so far away!
- i think that the britney concert is probably the only place i could wear it where it would actually be appreciated since everyone there are also fans of britney!
- lynnieloo and her cousin are wearing their britney ball outfits when they see britney in las vegas. they are even in a workout competition right now with each other to see who has the hottest bod before the show. if they can wear their costumes, then whose to say that i can't wear mine, right?
well, unfortunately the boyfriend planted this seed in my head that
made me think that i would be a freak if i wear this to the concert. he
even said that it makes me look like a stalker! usually i try not to
care what people think about me but now i am really afraid that maybe
it IS like i am a stalker.
