yeahhh...i still don't feel ANY sympathy towards these fucking bastards.
i just read this article which reports that less then a week after the $700 billion bail out from the government, AIG sent executives on a $440,000 retreat to a California spa resort. read on:
The tab included $23,380 worth of spa treatments for AIG employees at the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los Angeles even as the company tapped into an $85 billion loan from the government it needed to stave off bankruptcy.
The retreat didn't include anyone from the financial products division that nearly drove AIG under, but lawmakers were still enraged over thousands of dollars spent on catered banquets, golf outings and visits to the resort's spa and salon for executives of AIG's main U.S. life insurance subsidiary.
"Average Americans are suffering economically. They're losing their jobs, their homes and their health insurance," House Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) said. "Yet less than one week after the taxpayers rescued AIG, company executives could be found wining and dining at one of the most exclusive resorts in the nation."
this fills me with so much fucking rage. these bastards deserve to get the shit kicked out of them. the country is having an economic meltdown and these assholes take tax payer's money from american citizens, who have actually earned their money through hard work and honest living...and then they throw $440,000 of that money away on a vacation for their employees? you have got to be fucking kidding me. we can basically kiss that $700 billion goodbye. all these bastards care about is their own bank accounts and what will benefit them. they don't care about anything else but their own personal bank. i guarantee that the majority of that $700 billion will go into the pockets of executives who already have a shitload of money.
you know how far $700 billion could go if that was rewarded to something that would ACTUALLY make a difference in this country - how about education for example? when's the last time the government decided to hand out BILLIONS of dollars for the benefit of its children? no one blinks an eye when we send billions of dollars to a war that will never be won. some people protested the bailout but in the end, the fuckers still got that $700 billion. oh yeah - and the stock market is STILL plummeting. great lot of good that did, eh?
