Wow, you were smart to go to the hospital. I've done things like that and it gets out of control quickly.
One time I was meeting a guy at a restraurant where he was a chef - I sat at the bar and had like 3 long island iced teas, and said yeah that's enough. But the guy saw me and thought I had just arrived, bought me 2 more. I did not get ill so the toxic crap almost killed me.
That kind of extreme drinking was rare for me but yes it was really bad - my head felt like cement. It's a wonder I didn't croak. I quit after college too - one of the best things I ever did (along with when I quit smoking and began mountain biking).
And yeah I can't even smell certain types of alcohol now without feeling sick.
